Today's day starts with a drive to Uttarkashi, a distance of approximately 82 km. The town of Uttarkashi is one of the most visited tourist destinations in Uttarakhand, known for its beautiful landscape dotted with several temples. The most famous temple in Uttarkashi is the Lord Vishwanath Temple, dedicated to Lord Shiva. In addition to this temple, there are also other temples dedicated to Lord Hanuman and Goddess Durga, as well as temples dedicated to several other deities including Parshuram, Annapurna, Dattatraya, Bhairav, Lakshmeshwar, and Ekadash Rudra. On the way to Uttarkashi, you will make a stop at Prakateshwar Cave, a natural limestone cave that promises to be a unique and different travel experience. The cave is revered in much the same way as the other religious sites in the state because the natural formations of the caves resemble Lord Shiva. Inside the cave, there is a small pool whose waters are considered sacred. After arriving at Uttarkashi, you will complete your check-in formalities at the hotel. Take some time to rest and relax before visiting the famous Vishwanath Temple in the evening. Seek blessings and pay your respects to Lord Shiva. The Kashi Vishwanath Temple in Uttarkashi is a place where all your wishes are said to be fulfilled, provided you worship the Lord with the highest devotion. The main deity of the temple is Lord Shiva, who is considered to reside in this temple until the end of Kaliyuga. A particularly fascinating sight is the Shivalingam which is 56 cm in height and has a slight tilt to the south. Apart from Lord Shiva, other deities in the sanctum sanctorum are those of Lord Ganesha and Goddess Parvati. Outside the temple, there stands a statue of Nandi. Stay overnight at the hotel.
Your day begins with an early morning drive to Gangotri, a holy destination in Uttarakhand. Upon arrival, take a dip in the waters of the holy River Ganga and seek blessings by offering a pooja inside the temple. Relax and take in the beauty of the surroundings.Gangotri is an important stop on any Char Dham Tour. It is situated in Uttarkashi and is steeped in mythology dating back to ancient times. According to legend, Goddess Ganga transformed herself into a river to excuse the sins committed by King Bhagirath's forefathers. Lord Shiva, in order to minimize the impact of her fall, embraced Ganga in his matted locks. This is why the place has been associated with Goddess Ganga ever since. In the afternoon, you will drive back to Uttarkashi. After arriving, complete your check-in formalities at the hotel and stay overnight.
Your morning starts with a drive to Guptkashi, a renowned tourist spot in Uttarakhand that is located just 70 km from Kedarnath. Along the way, you will also get to visit Tehri Dam before continuing your journey to Guptkashi. Upon arrival, you will complete your check-in formalities at the hotel. Take some time to rest and relax. In the evening, set off for a religious tour. Two of the places you will visit are the Kashi Vishwanath Temple and the Ardhnarishwar Temple. One of the most exciting things to do in Uttarakhand is visiting the Tehri Dam. The dam is special as it is not only the highest dam in India but also the highest in the world. The dam's enormous size is sure to invoke admiration and is a favorite among tourists visiting this place. The history of Guptkashi is also quite intriguing. According to the great Hindu epic, Mahabharata, the Pandavas, after the great Mahabharata War, were advised by Lord Krishna to atone for their sins for the crimes committed during the war. Acting on this advise, they went in search of Lord Shiva. However, he did not want to meet them since he was annoyed with their actions. To avoid meeting them, he went to Guptkashi in disguise of Nandi, the bull and his companion. The Pandavas followed him to Guptkashi and ultimate recognised him. When Bhima, one of the Pandava brothers, grabbed Nandi by the tail and tried to pull him out forcibly, the bull vanished into the ground. He appeared later on as Lord Shiva in five different forms. Here, Lord Shiva is revered as Vishwanath, which means, “lord of the universe”. Regional stones have been used in its construction. The other famous temple, known as Ardhnarishwar Temple, is located just beside this temple. Stay overnight at the hotel.
In the morning, set off by car to Sonprayag via Guptkashi. After arriving, begin the trek to Kedarnath Temple via Gaurikund, Bheem Bali and Garuechati. Upon completion of this amazing trek, you will reach the temple. Perform a pooja, enjoy the darshan of the Lord and seek his blessings. The town of Kedarnath is the most ancient of all the Char Dham Pilgrimage Sites in Uttarakhand. It is most famous for the Kedarnath Temple. Situated in the lap of the Himalayan ranges, it is enveloped by snow-capped mountains, with the most famous among them being Mt. Kedarnath. The origins of the temple remains uncertain even today, with various sources attributing it to different periods.According to the Hindu mythological epic, Mahabharata, it was the Pandava brothers who constructed the temple. It also finds a mention in the Skanda Purana where Kedar is mentioned as the place where Lord Shiva released the holy waters of River Ganga from his matted locks. This is also how the river came into existence. The temple is a part of the Chota Char Dham pilgrimage in India. Another interesting fact is that it is the highest among the 12 Jyotirlingas.Inside the hall of the temple, you will find the lingam which is unlike one you have seen before because of its irregular dimensions. There is also a pillared hall which contains statues of the five Pandavas brothers, Nandi the Bull, Lord Krishna and Lord Veerabhadra, who is a bodyguard and personal protector of Lord Shiva. The temple is also famous for an interesting tradition whereby the rituals and other religious duties are carried out by the head priest (known as Raval) who belongs to the Veerashaiva community from Karnataka. The mantras which are uttered in honor of the Lord are conducted in the Kannada language, a custom which has been followed for hundreds of years. Stay overnight at Kedarnath.
Your day begins with an early morning pooja and darshan at the temple. Take in the surroundings, which work wonders to uplift your mind and mood. There is a sense of spirituality in the air here. After seeking blessings at the temple, begin your trek down to Sonprayag. Enjoy the natural sights along the way.Upon arriving at Sonprayag, get in touch with our driver. Now begins your drive to Rudraprayag. Once you arrive, complete your check-in formalities at the hotel. The small village of Sonprayag is located in the state of Uttarakhand. It is situated about 4 km from Gaurikund, 18 km from Kedarnath, and 70 km from Rudraprayag. At an impressive altitude of almost 1829m, it lies enroute towards the Kedarnath Temple. This village is the site of the meeting of two holy rivers - Basuki and Mandakini. Devotees visiting this place believe that taking a dip in its holy waters relieves them of all sins and purifies their mind and body. Pipalkoti is another small town located in the district of Rudraprayag. What makes it a place of immense spiritual significance is the confluence of the two rivers, Alaknanda and Mandakini, which occurs here. In fact, tourists visit this place in large numbers every year just to watch the confluence of the rivers, as the sight is simply so splendid and evokes spirituality. As is evident by its name, it is named after Lord Shiva. Apart from its religious importance, it is also famous for the various sightseeing options it provides. Stay overnight at the hotel.
After breakfast, embark on a drive to the holy town of Badrinath. Upon arrival, check into your hotel and take a refreshing bath in the Taptkund. In the evening, pay your respects at the Badrivishal temple and participate in the Aarti ceremony. The Brahma Kapal is an important site for performing the Pinddan Shraddh, a ritual honoring one's ancestors. Other notable sights in the area include the Mana village, home to an Indo-Mongolian tribe and the last Indian village before Tibet, the Vyas Gufa cave where it is believed the Mahabharata was composed, the Maatamoorti, Charan Paduka, Bhimkund, and the "Mukh" of the Saraswati River, all located within a 3 km radius of Badrinath. Stay overnight in Badrinath. It is important to note that the weather in Badrinath can vary greatly, with average temperatures ranging from 18° Celsius during the day to 8° Celsius at night. Warm and woolen clothing is recommended throughout the year, as well as during the winter months when snowfall is common and temperatures drop to an average of 5° Celsius. Due to these extreme conditions, the town may be closed to tourists during this time.
After breakfast in the morning, embark on a journey to Rishikesh. Rishikesh, known as the "place of sages," is a renowned spiritual town located on the banks of the Ganges and surrounded by the Shivalik range of the Himalayas on three sides. According to legend, when Raibhya Rishi performed intense spiritual practices, God appeared and blessed the area, thus giving it the name Rishikesh. Upon arrival, check-in to your hotel and later visit the temples and popular sights in Rishikesh such as Laxman Jhulla and Ram Jhulla. Drop to the Railway Station.
